Google SketchUp Tutorial Sign-Up – Winter 2015

City and town planning shouldn’t be limited to research alone, but it also should be a discipline that allows planners to be creative and to express their ideas through design. People are visual creatures and in order to really convey one’s point-of-view in a meaningful way one might need some visual representations to help build concrete designs.

The Sketchup Tutorial to be held this coming winter will allow students to make use of the necessary tools that can bring plans to life.

Students will learn how to import CAD files into the platform, make use of quantitative tools, texturing models, rendering models, and much more.

This isn’t a certified tutorial of any kind, but it will lay down the basic knowledge needed to create vivacious and lively environments of a 3-dimensional nature for any upcoming project.

This is your big chance urban planning and studies students, to learn about and practice urban design! This tutorial will be especially helpful to students who are in URBS 333 and URBS 433, for team project design, but will also come in handy for any student looking to add a visual element to their projects.

If you would like to participate, please email the VP Internal Affairs at with your name, student ID and program, to register and confirm your attendance.

Hope to see you there for this great experience and opportunity!
